This Day in History. Barack Obama Ushers a New Era in The United States

It may not be the most elegant thing to do during the celebration of a new president, but I couldn't help it.. Along with the crowd, a message to Bush... I did, too, uttered: Nananana, hey, hey, goodbye! Good riddance, once again. Gone but not forgotten, and I don't mean this in a positive way.

The legacy of Bush&Co: Torture, lies, waste and no-bid contracts, bad economy & the falling standards of the middle class, hurricane-size indifference, incompetence, violation of civil liberties, trashing of the US constitution, dumbing down, politics of fear, ignorance, religious nuttery, marring US reputation & standing in the world, etc, etc...

On to the future while remembering the lessons of the past. Cheers!

PS>The picture is from an art project, "drildo,"... and it may not be related to the story about the BushCo's legacy or any reaction to such.

What a lame speech by Rick Warren. Pathetic, self-serving, and exclusionary! Bad, bad decision by Obama to give him such a exposure.

I better stop here and not mess up this occasion....

Beautiful rendition by Aretha. Someone said, God would be more impressed with the bow on her hat than Warren's speech.... Haha

The musical piece was very nice too!

I noticed tears on many people's eyes... yes, myself included.

OK, the rest is pomp and circumstance, yet BO's speech is historic.

I don't think many people will remember the details. Let's see what BO will do.

puleez, don't talk about God wanting everyone equal....

where was god during slavery and countless holocausts?

ok, BO has to speak to the crowd, but please elevate the dialogue... don't reinforce stupid beliefs....

enough of that in the last 8 (or more) years....

it's the 21st century!

We CAN and WILL do.... he says.

I hope so.

Restore the trust between the people and their gov.

"Watchful eye" in how the free market works! That's a concept...

"Opportunity is the surest route to our common good!" What, not just for those who can afford it??!!

"Choice between safety and our ideal"? Hmmm, is he saying what I think he's saying?

"We are ready to lead once more"...

"Power alone cannot protect us"... nor it can be used unwisely!

"We're a nation of many".... believers and un-believers.. I hope he also means that we're all patriots regardless of politics or religion.

History & people will judge you on:
What you can build not what you destroy! Great point, though not really understood by many.

Honor our troops, but let's not forget: don't sacrifice them in vain or on false pretenses. Investigate the lies and the legal trespasses of BushCo.

Let's get to work. Not a day to waste!

We are all have a role to play. Raising our children is an extremely important task. They will help fuel progress.

Personal responsibility starts at home.

Civic duty, caring for our country is based on a personal sense of responsibility and caring for our commonwealth.
